Warning

distal part of my arm

Proximal part of my arm

Where I have not lost skin, the blister and the other parts of  darkened skin will eventually come off as it is dead burnt skin.

I am not doing this blog just to gross you all out! I am doing this blog just to alert everyone to the dangers of wearing clothes made mostly of nylon. Sunday afternoon after Chads birthday party and a nice dinner, about 3 pm I decided to do the dishes but I was kind of tired so I went to the microwave to heat up a mug of leftover coffee from the morning. I put it in for one minute, I have done this temp for years, hot enough but not too hot. Well due to being kind of tired, I bumped the mug and spilled in on my left arm. I immediately went to the sink to put my arm under the faucet for 20 min. (recommended time for any burn as a burn keeps burning) I had never experienced pain so quick and so severe and when I went to take my sweater off alot of my skin came off with it. I found out it was the fabric which was the main cause of me getting such a severe burn. This is the sweater I was wearing(-pictured above) very thin but NYLON.
I spoke with a friend at work who had another experience with  a sweater that had nylon in it. She was wearing it and put her arm over a candle on her table as she was setting it for a holiday. It caught fire, sparked and even singed her hair and eyebrows. She said she felt like a sparkler.
I will never work in the kitchen again with any clothes made of nylon material. Hope you don't either. And if you have small children, read tags as to what is in your childrens clothing.

Harlem globetrotters

We took Franesha to see the Harlem Globetrotters today. I saw them when I was about her age
and loved them. They were hilarious !
Franesha liked it that they had a girl on the team, her name  TNT, she was about 5 feet tall.
They had all kinds of stunts, this one the player stood on top of the basketball hoop.

13 yo and does not like her picture taken. Do you remember their theme song? They still have the same one  Sweet Georia Brown.

Cruisin with the guys

The first stop on our vacation was to Dans place in Pompano Beach, isn't it nice ?  He flys with the best.
By the channel at Dans Rental
Three of my four handsome young men (sorry Ben could not go along, I will make it up to you Ben.)
We played lots of sports(dodgeball above, volleyball, basketball ) not to mention working out in their fine gym on Freedom of the Seas.
Dan and Chad did the flow rider, harder than it looks !
On St Thomas Jeff and I went to Morningside Beach. A man who owned an art store asked if Jeff wanted to play volleyball, he was impressed with his skills. He asked to take a picture of them together.
One of the girls Jeff met talked him into doing the belly flop contest. He took the bronze medal but he deserved the gold !
 Perfect form !
Relaxing at Morningside Beach
 So beautiful !
Do we look like tourists ?
Did not get quite as good a deal as 2 years ago.No free beer with the lawn chairs and umbrella. The boys went with me to my favorite jewelry store The Grand in St. Maarten.  They said it isn't too often that a mother's sons get drunk waiting for their mom to buy jewelry.( they didn't really but the store did give them some beer to keep them happy while I shopped)  I am sure I paid for them !
 Bracing themselves for some shopping.
And having fun !  Some old lady came up to Jeff in St Maarten and told him her husband used to look just like him.
 In the dining room.
We were known as the Michael Phelps of the ship !
Frank and Mary sat with us in the dining room. Frank used to own a restaurant in New Orleans, now he is retired and his wife has a flower shop and they live in Destin, Florida. Very nice people. Frank came each night just to see how much Jeff ate.
A little bar on the beach at Morningside.
This is really the place Dan is staying, much  more modest, it is a block away from the first house pictured. The first house belongs to one of the Miami Heat basketball players.

The Big Blue Barn

Last night we went to Nate and Becky's wedding (Jeffs best friend) It was hot, hot, hot, over 100 degrees outside, as it was an outside wedding. But beside the heat it was beautiful and lots of fun. I was facinated with the Big Blue Barn which is in St. Joe (no air though). Dan was the DJ and he did an exceptional job. Jeff was one of the groomsman and did not even flinch in the heat and looked pretty dapper in his tux with purple tie. Nate was handsome as ever and Becky had the most beautiful gown. Here are a few pictures of the night. You will recognize alot of faces.
notice the spray bottle to keep cool !

Bens graduation and more

This is a picture of Ben and Beth when we went to 25 Kitchens in GR on St. Patricks Day. My suggestion is to not go there on St. Patricks Day, it was more like Hell's Kitchen. Am I showing my age? Too loud, food was no good, but watching the people was a tad interesting. We went there with Malissa, Ron and his girlfriend, Esther , and Ben and Beth who were home for the weekend, then we went to a Griffins game across the street.

This is my R foot, I broke it in 3 places, have a questionable torn ligament from soccer. I have to see the orthopedic specialist tomorrow but I'm hoping for no further issues and to get this darn boot off. I have softball coming up.

Here is a picture of Carol and her dog visiting Grandpa. Nugget in one of her many outfits.

Bens Graduation from MSU ! Yeh, way to go Ben!

We celebrated graduation by eating at Crazy Horse in the evening.
