Turning 50

Well, the time has come ! I can hardly believe it, but I am turning 50 tomorrow. My uncle in Florida said if you just think you are younger , you can be younger. Ssoooo, I am thinking I am 35 ( these days I am going to have to think real hard). It seems to work for my uncle , he is 72 and jet sets it all over the world, he hardly sleeps. This is his secret breakfast for keeping young:

1/2 cup dry one minute oatmeal
fresh fruit of your choice: he uses blueberries, strawberries, pineapple and bananas
Then add 1/2-1 cup of Looza brand pear, apricot, or banana nectar
Mix it up and eat ( thats right , you don't cook the oatmeal, that takes out all the nutrients. )

Jim took Esther, my dad, Chad, and I out for our birthdays ( Esthers was monday) . We went to Alpen Rose. On tue, wed. and thurs. they have a menu of 5 meals for $12.95 which include the main entree, bread, and dessert of hot fudge sundaes. We had prime rib and it was delicious, it came with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Very good portions also.

Tomorrow I have a very busy fun day planned. I start with getting a haircut at 10:00, then I go to lunch with my friend Gret. She is also baking me a no soy chocolate cake with frosting. I am going to eat the whole thing ! I then get a massage at 3 pm with my friend Lana. I then will stop to see Jen, Brenda and the girls at Bills as I will miss the birthday party since I promised my neighborhood mentor kids I would take them out for dinner for my 50th birthday. Happy birthday to Elise, Kelsey and Macey too !

My dad was so sweet. For my birthday he bought me oranges, apples, bananas, cantalope, pineapple, celery, carrots, and tomatoes. ( I will need that several days after the chocolate cake !)

Esther gave me this really cool necklace that you can buy charms for and put them between the glass of the necklace.
Turning 35 isn't so bad after all. ( 35 and holding)

  3. Hi Rach - LOVE the necklace - where in the world did Esther get it? Missed you at the party last night, but I'm sure your "kids" LOVED having dinner out with you! You're one "hot mama" for a 50, ahem, I mean, 35 year old!

  5. Hi Rachel. I think your uncle is right - what a great perspective.

It definiitely reminds me of a story Polly and Jane sent in. They are a stitch, sitting and trading one-liners about what it means to look/feel/act "your age" (whatever that means).

Great stuff! Hope you like it:
